Dr Elfrieda Fourie is a medical doctor who specialises in advanced medical aesthetic procedures.
She graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2006 with a MBChB. She also holds an Advanced Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine (Cum Laude), is certified by the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and is accredited by the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
Her passion for aesthetics began during her two-year internship and community service at the George Mukhari Hospital in Garankuwa. There, she gained experience in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, Dermatology and burn injuries.
Before joining the team at Anti-Aging Art in Houghton, Johannesburg in 2016, Dr Elfrieda worked in Emergency Medicine in Pretoria and as an associate at a private medical practice, focusing on General and Cosmetic Dermatology as well as Integrative and Functional medicine.
Dr Elfrieda considers aesthetics to be one of the most rapidly evolving industries in the world and prides herself on being on the forefront of trends and technologies. She regularly attends advanced training with local and international experts, has won multiple awards and accolades, and has been appointed as a key opinion leader and trainer in regenerative aesthetic procedures and as a trainer for Galderma fillers.
In 2018, Dr Elfrieda was recognised at the Les Nouvelles Spa Awards with a Humanitarian Award for the work she is doing, alongside her colleague, Dr Reza Mia, with Project Restore, a pro-bono foundation that restores dignity through aesthetic and healing treatments.
Dr Elfrieda is a passionate advocate of the transformative power of aesthetics. She describes her role as a rewarding gift as she is able to help people heal from emotional and physical scars or barriers, allowing them to emerge rejuvenated – looking and feeling their best.
The time not devoted to work and study is spent with her family and beautiful twin daughters, her biggest love and triumph.
